Mary Ann Cook is the Executive Director of the Maguire Academy of Insurance and Risk Management. The Maguire Academy is a place where students and scholarship, supported by top industry employers, converge in an environment of opportunity, innovation, and strategic learning experiences, which lead to amazing careers. Dr. Cook earned her Ed.D. from St. Joseph's University, where she also served as a visiting instructor with the Finance Department's Maguire Academy of Insurance and Risk Management. As a teacher, she focuses on property-casualty, underwriting, risk management, and insurer operations topics. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s University, Dr. Cook was a senior vice president at The Institutes in Malvern, engaging in the design and development of designation programs, as well as writing and presenting on a variety of topics, including insurance operations, coverages, and the agent and broker marketplace. Additionally, Dr. Cook served as the Executive Director of the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA). Prior to that, she worked with leading regional and national insurance brokerages, specializing in risk analysis, account broking, surplus lines, benefits, and program business.
