Occupational History:
Theresa strives to balance her multiple roles. She is married to Troy, a business executive and together they are the proud parents of Brionna (a junior at the University of the Sciences) and Kayla (a high school senior), their daughters. When she is not teaching or practicing in the clinic, Theresa enjoys experimenting with new recipes that she acquires throughout her travels. Her newest passion is learning how to cook Indian cuisine, and learning about the Indian culture. Theresa recently traveled to Mexico, and is planning a trip to India in the near future. Theresa’s favorite movies include “The Shawshank Redemption,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Miracle” to name a few.
Theresa has a passion for learning. She came to love the field of occupational therapy when she was treated by an occupational therapist when she was 10 years old and in the hospital recovering from Guillain Barre Syndrome. New to academia, she began as an adjunct faculty with the Usciences community in 2011, and began as a full-time faculty in August 2013. Theresa enjoys teaching foundation and intervention courses. Theresa’s love of learning has inspired her to pursue a doctorate in education. In addition to teaching students, Theresa actively mentors students in her private pediatric practice located in New Jersey.
Clinical Practice:
Theresa has worked as a clinician for over 20 years. She began her career as an occupational therapist in a rehabilitation setting where she held the roles as senior occupational therapist and Director of Occupational Therapy. She then pursed a career primarily in pediatrics and has worked in various settings including public and private school districts and out-patient clinics. Her clinical experience also extends to per diem work in SNF and homecare settings. Theresa has also been a consultant to private school districts. Currently, Theresa is a partner at “The Therapeutic Puzzle, LLC”, a pediatric multidisciplinary practice in New Jersey. Theresa has provided various in-services and seminars at her clinic to medical professionals, families, caregivers, and various community agencies. She is committed to helping children and their families thrive.
