Suniti Sharma is a professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia. She teaches instructional techniques for English language arts and social studies, ESL pedagogy, and literacy across the curriculum. Her research focuses on preparing teachers for multicultural classrooms, education of at-risk youth, and the intersection of diversity, culture and curriculum. Her research has been published as a book, Girls Behind Bars Reclaiming Education in Transformative Spaces; as co-edited collections, Internationalizing Teacher Education for Social Justice: Theory, Research and Practice and Internationalizing Teaching and Teacher Education for Equity; and, in education and curriculum journals such as Race, Ethnicity and Education, Teachers College Record, Issues in Teacher Education and Journal of Curriculum Theorizing.
