Dr. Shoshanna Edwards-Alexander, Ed.D., M.S.W., L.S.W., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Master of Social Work Program at Saint Joseph’s University. With over 25 years of experience in social work, higher education, and diversity strategy, she is committed to integrating social justice, organizational leadership, and evidence-based practice into graduate education. She designs and delivers courses that foster inclusive, experiential learning environments and equip students with the skills to drive meaningful change.
Dr. Edwards-Alexander has an extensive background in human rights, social justice, and culturally responsive interventions. Her scholarship focuses on equity, literacy, and advocacy-centered teaching, culminating in her co-authored book, Connecting Equity, Literacy, and Language: Pathway Towards Advocacy-Focused Teaching.
She has held numerous leadership roles, including nearly two decades as Director of Multicultural Life, where she developed transformative programs to enhance student retention, promote cultural competency, and support marginalized communities. A sought-after diversity consultant, she advises institutions on anti-racist pedagogy and inclusive curriculum design.
Dr. Edwards-Alexander holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University and an M.S.W. from the University of Pennsylvania. She exemplifies a lifelong commitment to advancing education, advocacy, and social work practice to empower individuals, families, and communities.
