Sage (she/her) has 17 years of professional healthcare experience. She is a nurse, educator, board-certified chaplain, and Unitarian Universalist Minister. She began her nursing career in 2005 and soon discovered her passion for healthcare staff and student support. After 8 years as a bedside nurse in geriatrics, mental health, and hematology, she obtained her graduate degree and board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains. She completed her internship, and two residencies at Lancaster General Health Penn Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Sage served as chaplain and spiritual care coordinator at LGH and Hospice and Community Care. She served as Director of Lifespan Faith Development and Minister at two local Unitarian Universalist congregations. Her teaching experience locally and here at Saint Joseph's includes a range of topics including ethics, issues and values, professional nursing, and effective communication. Throughout her career, Sage has remained committed to healthcare staff and student care by creating programs of support for nurses and physicians, incorporating mindset and grounding practices into curriculum development, and advocacy for people with marginalized identities. Sage is a life-long learner, lover of nature, and seeker of justice who wants everyone to feel valued and know that they belong.
