Renee Dobson is Associate Professor of Performing Arts and Artistic Director of Bluett Theatre in the Department of Fine & Performing Arts at Saint Joseph's University. Renee has directed over fifty productions in both professional and university venues and performed in numerous professional productions as well. She served as Director of Musical Theatre (BFA) Program where she was instrumental in creating the program and directed musicals including Bizet's Carmen, Sweeney Todd, Oklahoma!, Carousel and West Side Story among many others. At SJU, she has directed Into The Woods, A Streetcar Named Desire, Phantom, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Diary of Anne Frank, Jekyll & Hyde, Assassins, Cabaret, Godspell, Chicago and the Dead Man Walking: Selections from the Opera and the Theatre Project. Renee was also nominated twice for the Carbonnell Award by Theatre Critics of South Florida for her performances in City of Angels and The Most Happy Fella.She holds an MFA from Ohio University and is a proud member of Actors Equity Association.
