Dr. Rebecca Sheffield earned her MEd in Couples and Family Therapy and her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the College of William and Mary. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
She is passionate about teaching and mentoring counselors and received the Training and Mentorship Award from the International Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. For several years, she directed a nonprofit counseling center that provided free services to underserved individuals and families, staffed by graduate counseling students in training.
Dr. Sheffield has extensive clinical experience with individuals, couples, and families in community agencies, schools, and private practice. Her professional interests include culturally responsive counseling for diverse populations and family structures, as well as advancing accessible, high-quality counseling services.
