Mike Stackhouse is the Manager of Choices Unfiltered, Prevention Academy’s weekly podcast that promotes candid and insightful conversations about youth wellness and prevention. In his role, Mike drives the podcast’s mission to engage audiences in meaningful dialogues around substance use prevention and youth development.
In addition to his podcast responsibilities, Mike serves as a Senior Prevention Specialist with Prevention Academy at Saint Joseph’s University, where he is dedicated to advancing substance use prevention education in middle and secondary schools. His work emphasizes the importance of empowering adolescents with the knowledge and tools to make informed, healthy decisions.
With a diverse professional background, Mike began his career as a broadcast journalist in the United States Navy, where he developed strong communication and storytelling skills. Transitioning into student support, he managed an in-school suspension program at the middle school level with a focus on restorative practices. He also worked as a case manager for a nonprofit in Chester County, PA, helping individuals in crisis access essential community resources.
Driven by a deep commitment to the public health model of prevention, Mike is passionate about collaborating with schools, communities, and caring adults to spread life-changing prevention education and support youth in making positive, lasting choices.
