Born and raised in Lancaster County, my love of Health Sciences began when I acquired work as a Pharmacy Technician while in my Bachelor’s Degree program. After completing my Bachelor’s program, I moved to State College where I obtained a position working in the Optometry field. It was here that I got my first taste of surgery through assisting with LASIK. After losing my grandmother, I returned to Lancaster where I became a Certified LASIK Technician- seeing patients through their entire LASIK experience from initial consultation to final results. I was also afforded the opportunity to do other minor procedures in-office; and enjoyed it so much that I decided to return to school for Surgical Technology. After working in the field for some time, I realized I missed my first love- teaching! I started with Saint Joseph's University (then, Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences) as an adjunct professor, transitioned into the Clinical Coordinator role for 5 years, and am currently the Program Director for the Surgical Technology Program.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my growing family and visiting my parents in Delaware. Penn State football on Saturdays and Eagles football on Sundays are some Fall favorite activities, along with supporting my family's extracurricular school activities. I am a retired roller derby skater for the Dutchland Rollers roller derby team, and enjoy going to watch their games when I am able.
