Born and raised in Lancaster County, my love of health sciences began when I acquired work as a Pharmacy Technician while in my Bachelor’s Degree program for Education. After completing my Bachelor’s program, I moved to State College where I obtained a position working in the Optometry field. It was here that I got my first taste of surgery through assisting with LASIK. After losing my grandmother, I returned to Lancaster where I became a Certified LASIK Technician- seeing patients through their entire LASIK experience. I was also afforded the opportunity to do other minor procedures in-office; and enjoyed it so much that I decided to return to school for Surgical Technology. After working in the field for some time, I realized I missed my first love- teaching! I started with Saint Joseph's as an adjunct professor and am now Clinical Coordinator for the Surgical Technology Program.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with friends and family to include a niece and 2 nephews. I enjoy watching Penn State football and attending concerts. I am an active volunteer and retired skater for the Dutchland Rollers Roller Derby Team.
