Laura Waite, PharmD, BCPS, CLS is a clinical professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Administration at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP), School of Health Professions, Saint Joseph’s University. She is also the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions for the School of Health Professions. Dr. Waite previously served as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions and the Director of Student Recruitment and Engagement for PCP. She has maintained a clinical practice in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and served as vice-chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Administration, as well as the inaugural annual coordinator for the first professional year of a newly implemented competency-driven pharmacy curriculum. She also served as the co-chair of the University of the Sciences Middle States Commission on Higher Education accreditation self-study completed in 2022.
Dr. Waite received her PharmD from the University of Texas at Austin and completed a PGY-2 residency in internal medicine at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, John Cochran VA Medical Center and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Prior to her current position, she had faculty appointments at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy – Apopka (Orlando) campus. Dr. Waite’s career has included clinical practice in inpatient family medicine, inpatient internal medicine, and outpatient infectious disease, as well as a role in pharmaceutical industry as a medical science liaison. She maintains active involvement in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the National Lipid Association. She is currently the chair-elect of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Student Services Special Interest Group.
