Ken Ogawa is the associate vice president for administrative services at Saint Joseph’s University. He has over 30 years experience leading large and diverse facilities and technical organizations. Currently, he oversees all facilities operations and maintenance; real estate; environmental, health and radiation safety; and all campus auxiliary services including, but not limited to conferences and events, dining, bookstore, and print and mail services.
He also oversees long range strategic initiatives including maintaining the campus master plan and is one of the leaders of campus sustainability initiatives.
Prior to joining Saint Joseph’s University, Ogawa was the associate vice president of facilities at Bucknell University, the executive director of operations and maintenance at the University of Pennsylvania and served in the Navy for 22 years. He was also the treasurer of the Philadelphia Energy Authority from 2011 to 2016 where he helped launch the $1 billion, public-private financed, Philadelphia Energy Campaign, aimed at reducing energy consumption across the City of Philadelphia. In 2015, he founded Encent LLC whose mission was to enhance consumer awareness of financial incentives available for energy saving products.
Ogawa has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Davis and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland.
Ogawa is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Maryland, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Educational Facilities Professional.
