John earned his B.S. in Chemistry at Saint Joseph's University in 1987. He continued his education by earning a M.A. in Chemistry at Temple University in 1990. After Temple, John became a Senior Scientist at the FMC Corporation in Princeton NJ, synthesizing novel agricultural chemicals. In 1993 he became an Associate Scientist at the Robert Wood Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Spring House PA, synthesizing novel pharmaceutical reagents.
In 1996 John returned to Saint Joseph's University to serve as the Chemistry Department's Laboratory Coordinator. In this capacity, he teaches laboratory sections and oversees the operations of the general and organic chemistry laboratories, as well as coordinating the teaching assistants.
John also served as the University's Chemical Hygiene Officer and Hazardous waste Coordinator from 2005 to 2011. In 2009 he earned a M.S. degree in Environmental Protection and Safety Management from Saint Joseph's University.
