Don had 37 years of experience in juvenile justice, before retiring in 2014. He is currently an adjunct professor in three universities (Saint Joseph’s in Phila., Widener in Chester, and Penn State Brandywine in Media) and teaches 6-7 courses each semester.
Don has offered numerous workshops nationally on the use of circle dialogue in academia, and the implementation of a restorative classroom.
Don has an MS in administration of justice from Shippensburg University, and a JD from Widener School of Law. Don received his restorative justice certification from Florida Atlantic University and the national Institute of corrections. He received his peacemaking circle training from Kay Pranis and Don Johnson from Minnesota, his property crime mediation training from Mark Umbreit at University of Minnesota, and his severe violence dialogue training from Dave Gustafson from Vancouver, B.C.
Don has been with Saint Joseph's since Fall, 1998.
