Dr. Chris Heasley is an associate professor and chair of Educational Leadership and Counseling and director of the interdisciplinary doctor of education program for educational leaders (IDEPEL) at Saint Joseph’s University. Dr. Heasley’s scholarship is situated in three distinct strands: faculty pedagogy and professional development, social identity validation, and sense of community. Within this body of work, his research focuses on the interconnectedness between educational environments, and faculty and student outcomes in areas related to psychosocial development and socially constructed identities.

Dr. Heasley received his BA in Graphic Design from the University of Texas at Arlington, his MS in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University - Bloomington, IN, and his Doctorate in Education in 2013 from Saint Joseph's University. His dissertation titled, "Students Sense of Community Based on Experiences with Residence Hall Design" was nominated for the Nicholas Rashford Award.
