Dr. Carol Hoy is the Assistant Dean of Assessment and Clinical Experiences at Saint Joseph’s University. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success, she collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement innovative educational programs and supports departmental accreditation processes. Her leadership in curriculum development, certification, and community engagement has significantly contributed to the university’s dynamic approach to preparing future educators.
Dr. Hoy holds a Doctorate of Education from Saint Joseph’s University and brings over 37 years of experience in PK - 12 education. Before joining Saint Joseph’s full-time, she served as an elementary principal, a middle school assistant principal, and high school assistant principal for 18 years. Additionally, Dr. Hoy spent 15 years as an art teacher before transitioning into administration.
At Saint Joseph’s University, Dr. Hoy plays a key role in fostering partnerships with local schools and community organizations, ensuring students have valuable opportunities to apply their learning in real-world settings. She is also an Adjunct Profession in the Educational Leadership Department, with a strong focus on developing educational leaders. Dr. Hoy is also a Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Teacher Education (PAC-TE) board member serving as a representative of private colleges with educator preparation programs. Her dedication to student-centered teaching aligns with the university’s Jesuit mission to promote lifelong learning, social responsibility, and ethical leadership.
