Dr. Becki Scola is a Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at Saint Joseph’s University; and she co-directs the Women's Leadership Initiative. Dr. Scola joined the Saint Joseph’s University faculty in the Fall of 2009 after receiving her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine (2009), her M.A. in Social Science from the University of California, Irvine (2004), and her B.A. in Women’s Studies from Arizona State University (2001). Her research interests include state politics, gender politics, intersectionality, inequality, and inclusive pedagogy.
Dr. Scola has published in New Political Science, Journal of Political Science Education, Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, State Politics & Policy Quarterly, Journal of Women, Politics & Policy, and Politics & Gender. Currently, Dr. Scola is studying anti-hunger advocacy in Philadelphia, as well as developing a project that examines inclusive pedagogy within Political Science and higher education.
