Dr. Aubrey H. Wang is Interim Director of the Office of Teaching and Learning and Professor of Educational Leadership. Dr. Wang has directed two leadership programs at SJU—the Master’s Program in Organization Development and Leadership and the Interdisciplinary Doctor of Education Program for Educational Leaders—and served as a College Council Chair of the School of Health Studies and Education. Wang received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also received the Ethel and Allen “Buddy” Carruth Sustained Leadership in Education Award.
At SJU, Dr. Wang received the Patricia Leahy Award for Learning Innovations and the Faculty Research Merit Award. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of advancing active learning in the teaching of education leaders and bridging research and practice by developing new professional development approaches to magnify the voices of leaders with marginalized identities. Her recent co-edited book, Intersectionality and leading social change in education: Professional learning to transform self, others, and the field, has been nominated for the 2025 Society of Professors of Education Book Award.
Dr. Wang volunteers on several boards, including being a trustee on the Board of Directors of Young Scholars Charter School, Philadelphia, PA, and a founding member of the Scholar-Practitioner Research Collaborative Advisory Board.
