Dr. Anne Galgon is a board certified neurological clinical specialist. Dr. Anne Galgon has been a core faculty member in a physical therapy program since 2001. She started her academic career at Neumann University’s Program in Physical Therapy and then taught at Temple University until 2017. Her primary areas of teaching are in Neuroscience, Movement Sciences and the clinical management of neuromuscular disorders. She also mentors individual students in evidence base research projects. Several student projects have been presented nationally at the APTA Combined Sections Meetings. Anne received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Hahnamann University in 1987 and Doctorate in Movement Sciences from Drexel University in 2009. The focus of her doctoral work was in motor learning within the postural control system. Two chapters from her dissertation have been published. Her current research focus is in the physical therapy management of balance and vestibular disorders. She has won grant funding for a research project investigating two treatment approaches to manage lateral canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Anne has been a Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy since 1998 and has advanced training in Vestibular Rehabilitation. She has gained clinical expertise over 30 years working with adults with neurological disorders initially at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and then at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Since starting in her academic positions in 2001, she has continually practiced physical therapy at various clinical sites in the Philadelphia area including Moss Rehabilitation Hospital and outpatient physical therapy practices that specialize in treating individuals with balance and vestibular disorders. Anne contributes to the physical therapy profession through leadership roles in the Vestibular Rehabilitation Special Interest Group of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy of the APTA. She has been honored with Service Awards from the Academy in 2018 and the Vestibular Special Interest Group in 2020.
