Amy Kimchuk has made numerous presentations and has conducted most of her research on math anxiety. Some of her work has focused on examining different teaching methods that aid students in alleviating math anxiety, examining the twelve myths about math normally found in math-anxious people, examining different opinions on math anxiety held by people inside and outside the realm of education, and demonstrating how students in an urban community college feel about mathematics. She also developed and co-facilitated a math anxiety workshop series for Raritan Valley Community College students.
Some of the courses she has taught at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia include mathematical analysis, computer applications, college algebra and trigonometry. She was a reviewer for Elementary Statistics, and also was a consultant for University of Pennsylvania’s Tutoring and Learning Resources Program and for the Philadelphia Daily News’ Education Supplement on "Discovering Our Neighborhoods … And Ourselves." She is affiliated with the Mathematical Association of America and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
