- Synthesis of polymers and biopolymers
- Design and modification of thin films
- Nanostructured and hybrid ("smart") materials
Dr. Sidorenko performs interdisciplinary and application-oriented fundamental research in the directions of modern materials science. His focus is on the fabrication and study of novel artifical “smart” materials with prospective applications that spun from molecular electronics to bioengineering. He utilizes the approaches of supramolecular chemistry which typically take advantage of supramolecular assembly on 2D and 3D levels.
His research in bio-benign molecular brushes and polymer CORALs (Co-Ordinated Responsive Arrays of surface Linked islands) is performed in collaboration with the scientists from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, West Center for Computational Chemistry and Drug Design, and researchers from other universities.
